Cindy Smolkin (MSW/RSW)

Cindy Smolkin, (MSW/RSW), is a registered social worker and therapist.  Cindy has been working with children, families and adults for over 30 years.  She has been trained in the Connected Parenting model and uses its tenets in both her private practice and her own family life.

In addition to her private practice, Cindy is a clinical consultant at First Foundations Jewish Community Preschools. She has worked as a case manager and therapist at Jewish Family and Child Services in Toronto and at Integra, a mental health treatment centre for children and adolescents with learning disabilities.  Cindy was a social worker at the Toronto District School Board where she counselled children, adolescents and families, facilitated groups, ran workshops and provided training for teachers and school administrators. 

Cindy was also a field instructor for the University of Toronto Faculty of Social Work.  She has worked intensively with youth with a wide array of needs and has assisted parents in advocating for their children.

Projects and Workshops


Outside of Cindy’s private practice, she is a frequent guest on mental health podcasts and regularly leads family therapy workshops.

Cindy previously hosted the Empowered Parenting Podcast where she met with parents struggling with real issues. Cindy discusses how she empowers parents to feel courageous and confident in their parenting journey.
